Once an assessment is complete and submitted, it goes to the configured approvers based on the risk score. Approvers review the assessment in full and either approve or reject.

  1. Open the client's detail page.
  2. Click the KYC tab.
  3. The pending assessment shows your name in the Awaiting column for your approval layer.
  4. Click the assessment to open it.
  5. Review:
  • Client information snapshot — the client's details as captured at the assessment time.
  • Questionnaire answers and the calculated risk score.
  • Verification documents — IDs, addresses, AML search results.
  • Adverse media findings.
  • Any manual risk overrides with their reasons.
  1. As an approver, click Approve or Reject.
  2. Add notes explaining your decision — these are part of the permanent record.

If your firm has configured multi-layer approval (e.g. Layer 1: senior associate, Layer 2: MLRO/partner), the assessment routes to the next layer after each approval. The risk band determines how many layers are required — High risk assessments may require more sign-offs than Low risk ones.

The approved assessment becomes the client's current KYC record. A revision date is set based on the risk band's reassessment policy (e.g. annual for Low, 6-monthly for Medium, quarterly for High). When the revision date approaches, you'll see the client in the Ongoing Monitoring report.

Tip: Configure approver layers and revision intervals per risk band in Settings > AML Questionnaire (open the questionnaire and use the Approvers and Revision Dates options).
