Questionnaire templates define what's asked during a KYC assessment, how the answers are scored, and how the risk score routes through approvers. Configure them once to match your firm's AML policy, and every new assessment will use the structure.
- From the gear icon in the top navigation, open KYC Settings.
- Open the AML Questionnaires page.
- Click Add Template for a new questionnaire, or click an existing one to edit.
- Build the structure:
- Sections — groups of related questions (e.g. "Business Information", "Beneficial Owners", "Source of Funds").
- Questions within each section. For each:
- Name / text — the question prompt.
- Type — Yes/No, Dropdown, Dropdown (multiple).
- Risk weight (1–5) — how much this question's answer contributes to the overall score.
- Required — must be answered to submit.
- For dropdowns, define the options with risk ratings (Low, Medium, Medium-High, High).
- Configure Risk thresholds — the score boundaries between Low, Medium, Medium-High, and High risk.
- Configure Approvers — set up the approval chain per risk band (e.g. one approver for Low, two for High).
- Configure Revision dates — set the reassessment interval per risk band (e.g. Low → 12 months, High → 3 months).
- Click Save.
The template is now available for use in new KYC assessments.
Tip: Start by subscribing to a master questionnaire from the library — it gives you a sensible starting point that reflects common AML practice, which you can then trim or extend for your firm. Periodically sync from the master to pick up regulatory changes.
Note: Editing a questionnaire template does not retroactively change assessments that have already been completed — historical assessments preserve the structure they were created with. The new structure applies to future assessments.
