A contact relationship links a client to another person or entity — for example a director, shareholder, beneficial owner, or trustee. Relationships are core to KYC, capital structure, and reporting.

  1. Open the client's detail page.
  2. Click the Contacts tab.
  3. Click Add Contact.
  4. Search for an existing client or contact, or click Create New to add a new record on the fly.
  5. Choose the relationship type:
  • Officer — director, secretary, manager, or other authorised representative.
  • Shareholder — for entities with capital structure tracking.
  • Or one of your firm's custom relationship types (Settings > Contact Relations).
  1. Set the start date of the relationship, and optionally an end date if it has already ceased.
  2. For shareholders, capital details appear in the Capital section after you save (see "How to set up capital structure").
  3. Click Save.

The contact appears on the client's Contacts tab. The relationship is bi-directional — opening the contact's own profile shows them linked back to this client.

Tip: Custom relationship types let you model your firm's specific structures (e.g. Trustee, Settlor, Beneficiary, Ultimate Beneficial Owner). Configure them in Settings > Contact Relations so they are available on every client.
