Every workflow has two kinds of member assignments: Owners (accountable for delivery, typically a manager or partner) and Assignees (the people actually doing the work).

Assign owners and assignees for the whole workflow

  1. Open the workflow.
  2. Open the Details tab.
  3. Find the Owners and Assignees fields.
  4. Add or remove members using the multi-select dropdown — type to search.
  5. Changes save automatically.

Assign members to individual items

For more granular accountability, you can assign a specific item to a team member.

  1. Open the workflow's Workspace tab.
  2. Click Edit Mode.
  3. Each item has a member icon next to it — click it.
  4. Select the responsible member(s).
  5. Exit Edit Mode.

Assigned members see this workflow on their personal dashboard and in the Assigned to me filter. Item-level assignments also appear in the Team Workload report.

Tip: Use the Member field type (Add an item > Member) when you need an item itself to capture who did something (e.g. "Reviewed by") — this is separate from assignment and remains stored data even after the workflow is completed.
